Tampa Bay Buccaneers Announce 2023 Preseason Matchups

The Buccaneers now know who they will be facing and when during the 2023 preseason.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers' official 2023 schedule was released two weeks ago, and now the team also knows who they will be playing in the preseason prior to the 2023 regular season.

The Bucs will kick off their preseason in Raymond James Stadium on Friday, August 11th against the Pittsburgh Steelers, followed by a trip up to New York to face the Jets and ending back in Tampa Bay to take on the Baltimore Ravens.

The NFL implemented new roster cuts this season which will see teams compete in the preseason at a full 90-man roster until the one round of cuts taking place on August 29th knocking rosters down to their regular season roster limit of 53 players.

The Buccaneers will get two out of their three preseason games at home this season as the NFL adjusted its schedule in 2021 to a 17-game regular season, shortening the preseason to three games rather than four. Each season, all teams in one conference get home dates for their 17th game, which usually is an interconference battle, giving them nine home games. Those organizations will play just one home game during the preseason while the other conference teams get two. This year, the AFC gets their final regular season game at home, meaning that the NFC and the Buccaneers will have two games at home for the preseason.

There will be plenty of storylines for the Bucs and their preseason opponents, but it will likely be their exhibition against the New York Jets that will garner the most attention. With former Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers making his way to the gang green, along with the week of joint practices, there will be plenty to talk about in terms of how both teams look with a brand new and fresh quarterback at the helm.
