Tom Brady Shares How He'll Handle His Competitiveness Now That He is Retired

Tom Brady spoke with Rich Eisen about how he plans to handle his competitive itch now that he is retired.

Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady will go down as the greatest quarterback to ever play in the NFL, but he didn't get there just off pure talent alone. In fact, it was the drive that Brady has to become the best at whatever he puts his mind to that has driven his competitiveness over the course of his life.

Yes, Brady has spoken about his relationships and memories being a huge part of why he continued playing in the NFL for as long as he did, but when it comes down to it, his competitiveness on the field is what separated him from the rest of the pack and drove him to continue competing at the highest level.

The 7x Super Bowl Champion is now officially retired and we won't get to see that competitiveness come out on the field any longer. In a recent sit-down interview with Rich Eisen on his radio show, the Rich Eisen Show, the GOAT examined how he plans to combat his competitive itch that is bound to arise in his life.

"I think there's other competitive ways to kinda get those things out," he said. "I'll be competitive in other areas for sure. I will be. It doesn't necessarily need to be on a football field throwing footballs anymore. I can still do that. I'm just not going to do it competitively in a way, to be a part of an organization that way because that's a huge commitment. That commitment I don't take lightly. I don't think I ever took that commitment lightly. I thought I put 100 percent into everything, and I try to still put 100 percent into everything that I do. It just takes a little bit of a different shape or a little bit of a different direction, and you can see other areas where I'm trying to contribute, and I think I can be a part of different organizations and different places to help them be successful as well. I think that's a big part of what my future looks like."

Whether it's Brady's venture with the TB12 brand or his upcoming broadcasting gig with FOX, Brady is set in his ways of making sure he pours 100% of himself into whatever opportunity he is presented or takes on. That's just how he is, and why we all respect and admire his accomplishments.
