The Washington Football Team and organization has a 12-33-1 record all time against the Browns but despite that awful record, Washington has won seven of the last nine meetings since 1975.
I was here in Cleveland for the win in 2012, when Kirk Cousins made his first NFL start in place of Robert Griffin III and after an initial struggle, lit up the Browns for a runaway win.
The WFT has won three straight against Cleveland including that game and also in 2008 and 2016.
All time the WFT organization is remarkably average as in 604-604-28 in 89 seasons. Their playoff record boosts them a bit over .500 but there's been a lot of losing in the last 25+ years which has closed the gap considerably.
The Washington offense has scored seven total points in the first half in two games this year. They've scored 35 in the second half for a total of 42, or 21.0 per game.
The NFL average this year through 2 + weeks is 25.1 per team, per game.
The good news is the points scored in the 2nd half is 3rd best in the NFL.
Defensively Speaking:
Washington has 11 sacks through two games. That's the most they've had in that span since the first two games of 1986, when they also had 11.
Landon Collins interception last week was not only his first for the Washington organization, which he joined in 2019 but his first since Week 11 of 2017.
The Browns could be without both of their projected starting cornerbacks
Denzel Ward is listed as questionable with a groin injury and Greedy Williams will miss his third straight game with a shoulder injury sustained in training camp.
Kevin Stefanski said Ward is a legitimate game time decision but we might found out sooner than that and it goes without saying that Washington might be able to pick a bit more on an already suspect secondary.
