Dan & Tanya Snyder Issue Statement Upon Sale: 'We'll Root for Commanders in Coming Years!'

Tracking the news and reports identifying which NFL Draft prospects the Washington Commanders are showing interest in.

MAY 12 SNYDER STATEMENT The breaking news has happened: The Washington Commanders are being sold to a partnership led by Josh Harris, the agreement coming in at a record $6.05 billion.

And the outgoing owners, Tanya and Dan Snyder, have reached out to various media outlets - including to us here at CommandersCountry.com at SI - with a statement.

"We are very pleased to have reached an agreement for the sale of the Commanders franchise with Josh Harris," the statement reads. "We look forward to the prompt completion of this transaction and to rooting for Josh and the team in the coming years."

MAR 24 UCLA offensive lineman Atonio Mafi has met with the team, according to The Draft Network's Ryan Fowler, who used to work for the franchise. 

Mafi is a projected Day 3 pick.

MAR 10 The Chicago Bears have traded the No. 1 overall pick in the NFL Draft to the Carolina Panthers according to NFL.com's Ian Rapoport

Further reports indicate the Bears will receive the No. 9 overall pick this year from the Panthers along with their first and second-round picks in 2024, 2nd Round pick in 2025, and 2018 1st Round pick receiver D.J. Moore.

MAR 8 Washington has reportedly arranged a top 30 visit with Ohio State offensive tackle Dawand Jones.

MAR 6 The annual NFL Scouting Combine made Indianapolis the center of the football universe as the Commanders joined 31 other franchises in poking, prodding, and evaluating every step and misstep made by prospects in attendance. 

While doing so, they reportedly met formally with a number of potentials, including the following players.

With several areas to improve upon this offseason and many expiring contracts to brace for, the Commanders are hard at work forming and reforming their list of potential draft picks. 

Who they select in the NFL Draft will either set the franchise on a rapid course up the ranks of the league's best teams or doom it to continued mediocrity.
