AP Wins Award, Keeps on Winning Despite the Losing.

Adrian Peterson keeps on trucking along on his way to Canton, Ohio and the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
This week, Peterson was honored as a nominee for a major Sportsmanship Award in the NFL.

Peterson, is used to have plenty of praise heaped upon him and he's obviously earned it, but this year, might be his most impressive and yet non-descript road to the gold jacket he'll wear in a few years.
The 34-year old is averaging 4.3 yards-per-attempt this season in a lost year for the Redskins but with a very shaky quarterback situation, an inconsistent offensive line, no weapons around him and a former head coach who couldn't have shown less regard for his role - that has to be considered impressive.
The Redskins are averaging 4.7 yards-per-rush under Bill Callahan, despite enormous amounts of wrong information being disseminated in the media and by frustrated fans. Under Callahan, Peterson has racked up 383 yards on 75 attempts or an average of 5.1 yards per attempt.
Under Jay Gruden, Peterson was deactivated for the season opener and only had 108 yards on 40 attempts.
Callahan, the Redskins interim head coach, knows what he has in Peterson each and every game and what we can't see everyday.
This week, Peterson will have to split a role with Derrius Guice, who is going to be eased back into the lineup after missing 24-of -his-first 25 games in his NFL career.
The Jets are the No. 2 rushing defense in the league, it will be really interesting to see how Guice's addition helps Peterson or possibly hurts the ability to be patient and stick with the veteran.
I would expect Guice to be eased back into the lineup despite a few weeks of practice and to perhaps assume of a Chris Thompson role than replacing Peterson as the lead back. At least for this week.
Guice had three catches for 20 yards in his lone game in the NFL, at Philadelphia.
The Redskins are going to need both to help a terribly anemic offense as they try and get their first home win since October of last year.
