Washington Commanders Blown Out in Disastrous First Half vs. Chicago Bears

The Chicago Bears are dominating against the Washington Commanders in the first half.

The Washington Commanders may be playing the winless Chicago Bears, but they have been outclassed and pummeled in the first half, trailing 27-3 going into halftime.

It all started on the first drive when Justin Fields threw a 58-yard pass to D.J. Moore, and it went completely downhill from there.

The Commanders allowed a 20-yard touchdown to Moore three plays later and trailed 7-0. After giving up a field goal on the second drive, Washington gave up a second touchdown to Moore on the first play of the second quarter to make it 17-0.

Moore was undisputedly the star of the first half with five catches for 137 yards and two touchdowns.

Chicago Bears running back Khalil Herbert (24) carries the ball as Washington Commanders linebacker Cody Barton (57) chases during the first quarter at FedExField.

The Commanders offense never gained any momentum, scoring on one long 51-yard field goal from Joey Slye in the second quarter.

Washington had a chance to build something worth being proud of with a two-minute drill to end the half, but quarterback Sam Howell threw an interception on the first play of the drive, killing any chance of putting points on the board.

It's an embarrassing performance for the Commanders, who took the undefeated Philadelphia Eagles to overtime just four days ago.

Washington will have to run a perfect game between now and the end of the fourth quarter in order to even have a chance to come back in the game. Ron Rivera has to get his team together in order to come out of this game with at least something to hang their hats on.

The Commanders will receive the second half kickoff.
