No Cash for Trent

Trent Williams is not getting paid as was expected by the Redskins. The war wages on.

The Washington Redskins are not going to pay Trent Williams what they were contractually obligated to pay him.

A move that was completely expected but confirmed first by Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Williams has now lost and forfeited well over $15 million in salary and fines, with the number closer to 20 than 15.

That's an absurd amount of money for someone to just surrender for someone that allegedly cares just about money.

In talking to sources on both sides, Williams cares much more about the betrayal and lack of trust that Bruce Allen has fostered than the money lost.

My colleague at 106.7 The FAN Craig Hoffman did a 25 minute interview with Williams on Friday and provided another layer of proof that Williams doesn't care about the money lost.

I asked Hoffman Friday afternoon if Williams will file a grievance along with the NFLPA against the Redskins for putting him on the NFI list, after originally being told that he passed a physical before ultimately failing the subjective exam, because of a helmet issue.

Hoffman said Williams does not want to move forward with any type of grievance. 

Williams simply wants to be traded and is done with Bruce Allen and the Redskins.

The question now is will Williams get his wish and get traded?

I'm rooting for Williams to get what he wants. Freedom from the Washington Redskins and the iron fist of Bruce Allen. 

However, I also wonder why Williams won't defend himself legally and why Dan Snyder won't step in and do something to build a truce? 

Allowing Bruce Allen to run his organization into the ground is Snyder's No. 1 mistake. It has cost the Redskins their franchise anchor.
