Some Redskins change jersey numbers, some off limits

After the Washington Redskins trimmed their offseason roster down to the mandatory 53 players, some options have opened up for various players. With 90 men and 99 two-digit numbers, it's often difficult for a new player to get his desired jersey number. Once things are slimmed down, it becomes a little easier.

One such player is seventh-round cornerback Jimmy Moreland.

Moreland had been pulling double-duty at No. 25 with RB Chris Thompson, but now that he's on the regular-season roster, he'll shift to No. 32.

Fifth-round pick and linebacker Cole Holcomb is shifting from No. 57 to No. 55.

The Redskins of course only have one officially retired jersey number, Sammy Baugh's No. 33. Many fans are clamoring for the No. 21, worn by the late, great Sean Taylor, to join Baugh's in the officially untouchable category.
