News: Redskins have tough decisions to make for 53-man roster

Washington righted their preseason ship, and by now the coaching staff has a really good idea which players will make the Redskins 53-man roster or not. The final few slots may still be up for debate, as the the looks to also fill out their 10-man practice squad.

At this point of the offseason, front offices and coaching staffs have to put their heads together. Vested veterans on the roster in Week 1 have their salaries guaranteed. Players the club hopes to bring to the practice squad must be released first, risking them signing with another organization. Players who were injured in preseason must make the initial roster before being placed on injured reserve if they are a consideration to be brought back to the active roster during the season. All of these things matter just as much as talent, production and projection at this juncture.
