Watch: Every run from Guice's 2019 debut show diversity in Redskins plans for him

Derrius Guice has been a mystery trapped inside an enigma for Washington Redskins fans. Certainly, there was a bunch of optimism, but after tearing his ACL in the first preseason game of 2019, most fans haven't had the opportunity to truly see him in action.
While the true test will come in a couple weeks when the Redskins open their season against the Philadelphia Eagles, Thursday night's 2019 debut against the Atlanta Falcons showed many intriguing things.
Guice played 19 snaps, 31% of the offensive total. Head coach Jay Gruden was clearly focused on getting him game action as the running back say the ball 12 times in those 19 snaps. On his 11 runs he gained 44 yards, and his one reception, a screen play, netted another four yards.
The ways he was used was important as well. In addition to the screen pass and a lateral, Guice saw carries on inside zone and outside zone, with guards and tackles pulling in front of him and traps.
