Dallas Cowboys Most Obvious Pick: Which RB In 2024 NFL Draft?

The Cowboys could be aggresive in their pursuit of a running back.

The Dallas Cowboys lost running back Tony Pollard to Tennessee this offseason, leaving a major hole to fill on offense. In light of Pollard's relocation, Patrik Walker of dallascowboys.com believes the odds of the Cowboys drafting a running back are "extremely high."

"The reality is … the organization has its work cut out for them in the 2024 NFL Draft," Walker wrote. "That is particularly true at the running back position, seeing as Tony Pollard departed to join the Tennessee Titans in free agency, only one season after the Cowboys parted ways with Ezekiel Elliott."

The Cowboys had interest from now-Baltimore Ravens running back Derrick Henry, but missed out on signing him. After referring to the Cowboys as a "perfect situation" following his decision to join the Ravens, Henry clarified in an interview on The Jim Rome Show.

"For the record, Baltimore was always my No. 1 option," Henry told Rome. "That's always where I wanted to go ... I know the Cowboys lost (Tony) Pollard, so I didn't know if they're going to be looking for a running back. I live here in the offseason, I've been training here, living here for a while, so I just thought it made sense, and you know, I thought there'd be talks. But they never really reached out."

There are several talented players in the NFL Draft and if the Cowboys are in the market for a running back, Jonathon Brooks out of Texas could be a great investment. There may be cause for concern, considering he tore his ACL last season, but there's no questioning his talent.

Dallas has used its 30 Visits on an assortment of running back prospects. (See the list here). We agtee with the team's website; the Cowboys are locked in on making an add here. The questions? Which one ... and when?
