Dak Prescott Moves Cowboys to Atlanta - Workouts & 'The Lake'

"We're going to the lake!'' Dak Prescott told us, obviously meaning that there would be a recreational period to go along with the on-field throwing and route-running that he'd lead for Cowboys teammates in Atlanta.

FRISCO - The Dallas Cowboys are packing their bags for training camp in Oxnard, but before heading west, Dak Prescott and his collection of offensive pass-catching skill-position guys headed east for a working session - and a bonding session - in Atlanta.

A few days ago, we asked Prescott about his plans to take the fellas on the road for a workout ... yes, and the bonding session ... and Dak playfully gave us all the information he wishes for us to know.

"We're going to the lake!'' Dak said, obviously meaning that there would be a recreational period to go along with the on-field throwing and route-running.

And so ... to Atlanta they traveled. And to the water, we assume, they traveled as well.

The Cowboys ended up finishing the regular season with a 12-5 record, in second place behind the eventual NFC champion Philadelphia Eagles. If the Cowboys are to usurp the archrival Eagles this year? Chemistry will matter ... as will the installation and results of the new "Texas Coast Offense,'' a plan orchestrated by coach Mike McCarthy with Prescott as the trigger man.

The Cowboys quarterback working out with with some of his top targets in Atlanta is a step toward where Dallas wants to go. It appears that present at the sessions were CeeDee Lamb, Michael Gallup, Simi Fehoko and Jalen Tolbert, along with the tight end group.

Prescott, who led the NFL in interceptions last year, has vowed to cut that number way down. "I won't have 10 interceptions this year,'' he told us recently.

The "Texas Coast Offense'' can make that possible. So can the workouts. And the bonding. And, we suppose, the lake.
