FRISCO - Nobody's perfect - not even Dak Prescott and the terrific roll he's been on as the MVP-candidate quarterback of the surging Dallas Cowboys.

But in terms of passer rating, the number "100'' is a measuring stick, and a lofty one. And if the Cowboys QB continues his top-notch statistical work on "Sunday Night Football'' this week against the visiting Philadelphia Eagles in a key NFC showdown?

The number "100'' will vault Prescott into one of the most unusual and elite categories their is.

Dak Prescott for MVP in '23?

Dak Prescott for MVP in '23?

"Only 4 QBs in NFL history have posted a passer rating of 100 or better in 8+ straight home games. If (Dak's) passer rating is 100 or better on Sunday night vs. the Eagles, he'll join Aaron Rodgers, Kurt Warner, Drew Brees and Brett Favre."

How achievable is the number, one time, itself? How achievable is it against the talented defense of the 10-2 division-leading Eagles?

A month ago, on the road in a close loss at Philly, Prescott's passer rating was a sterling 115.2. So it can be done.

Not coincidentally, Dallas is a league-best winner of 14 straight at AT&T Stadium. Additionally, the Cowboys have defeated the Eagles five straight times in this building.

None of this is being treated as anything especially shocking - at least not by Dak himself, who recently said of his stats, My expectations, honestly. I prepare my (bleep) off, and the players and staff do the same.''

But those stats - - all working inside coach Mike McCarthy's newly-installed "Texas Coast Offense,'' are indeed stunning ... maybe especially so to the goofy critics who saw Dak top the NFL last year in interceptions with 15 and concluded that "Turnovers are in his DNA.''

Turnovers are indeed part of playing quarterback. They happen. But "batting 100'' and doing it eight straight times in a venue? That, obviously, rarely happens.
