Rumors: Would Dak Prescott's Cowboys Really Draft Florida State QB Jordan Travis?
FRISCO - As the offseason progresses and we get closer to free agency and April's NFL Draft, the Dallas Cowboys have decisions to make at many positions, but maybe none more important than under center.

So ... does Dallas need to draft a QB prospect? And if so, who might it be?

Some media speculation swirls around the name Jordan Travis for the Cowboys in the draft. The Dallas Morning News' Kevin Sherrington thinks the Florida State product is a name to watch in the second round.
Writes Sherrington: "Besides linebacker, the Cowboys could use a cornerback and more offensive linemen. Maybe a quarterback, like, say, Jordan Travis of Florida State.”
The problem with this? There are three that jump out.
One is that Dallas, at outlined above, already has three quarterbacks on the roster and under contract, so it's unlikely that it would add a fourth unless it has plans to make a move at the position.
Two is that with all due respect to Sherrington, the draft experts don't seem to see Travis this way. NFL.com's Chad Reuter does not include him in the first three rounds of his latest mock, and our man Dane Brugler doesn't consider him a top-100 player or a top-eight QB prospect.
And three: Travis threw for 2,756 yards, 20 touchdowns and just two interceptions with a 63.9 completion percentage in 11 games. He added another 176 yards and seven scores on the ground and he's considered a running threat. But he's also 6-1 ... and he would therefore be defying much of what scouts like to somehow end up way up in Round 2.
