Cowboys NFL Draft Combine Preview: What’ll Jerry Jones Say? Schedule, How to Watch

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and the rest of the front office will travel to Indianapolis for the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine - but with a few notable names missing from the coaching staff.

INDIANAPOLIS -- The Dallas Cowboys will be sending a contingency of staff members to the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine - but head coach Mike McCarthy and defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer won't be among them.

Citing workload capacity and time efficiency, McCarthy and Zimmer will remain at The Star while Jerry and Stephen Jones, vice president of player personnel Will McClay and all of the other assistant coaches and scouts make the trip.

McCarthy and Zimmer will be watching from afar - and there's plenty to monitor both on the field at Lucas Oil Stadium and off the field in the Indiana Convention Center.

Here's a look at the schedule for the NFL Combine ...

Press Conferences

Despite being on-site, Jones won't be participating in a mass pre-combine press conference. It goes without saying that McCarthy, who's not on-site, also won't speak.

Nearly all 32 teams will have at least one representative speaking, and many have both their head coach and general manager taking to the podium.

Jones regularly holds a sit-down with Cowboys media members on the team-branded “party bus.” We will of course monitor that.

McCarthy met with reporters last year but immediately flew back to Dallas, prioritizing the implementation of his offense over the Combine.
