Cowboys WRs: CeeDee Lamb Limping, Won't Practice; Jalen Tolbert 'Definitely Grown!' Says Dak Prescott

Jalen Tolbert endured a rough rookie season, but as he heads into his second offseason, quarterback Dak Prescott has already seen the leaps the young receiver has made. Meanwhile, CeeDee Lamb will sit out Thursday.

Dallas Cowboys receiver Jalen Tolbert did not have the best of rookie seasons. Drafted in the third round, not much was expected of Tolbert, but when called upon, he largely underwhelmed.

But now, after going away this offseason to work on his craft, Tolbert has come to Dallas OTA's and minicamp in a different frame of mind, and his quarterback Dak Prescott has taken notice. ... with maybe more chances coming in the final minicamp workout on Thursday because CeeDee Lamb will skip the workout after limping around a bit on Wednesday. Nothing serious, but no need to push it, so ... next man up.

"He's definitely grown," Prescott said of Tolbert. "Obviously, he knows what's expected of him. He wasn't happy with what he did last year ... He took charge this offseason, has done a great job, physically looks like he's moving fast, definitely bigger."

Tolbert has linked up several times with Prescott during OTA's and minicamp as the second-year receiver looks like a more assured version of himself.

With the help of veteran receiver Brandin Cooks, Tolbert has turned the page this offseason and now looks to be locked in a battle for the WR4 role on the roster

With crisper route running and confidence in himself that was lacking last year, what is the one thing that has impressed Prescott the most when it comes to Tolbert?

"Just on the knowledge of the playbook, he's picking it up, he's playing every position, huge growth," Prescott said. "I'm expecting him to make some plays."

After a rookie season that yielded just two catches for 12 yards, Tolbert looks to establish himself as a viable contributor on one of the NFL's most explosive offenses. ... an offense keyed by a healthy Lamb, who Dak thinks is on pace to become "the NFL's best receiver.''
