Cowboys 'Interest' in' Derrick Henry Trade Rumors Persist Ahead of NFL Draft

The Derrick Henry trade rumors have taken on a life of their own, with the Dallas Cowboys very much involved in the gossip.

FRISCO - A trio of NFL rumors regarding Derrick Henry are all colliding ... with all of them soon to come to a head. Involved - again, making sure to categorize these as rumors at this time - are the superstar running back Henry, the budding star running back Bijan Robinson from Texas, the Dallas Cowboys and the Philadelphia Eagles.

Yes, there are a lot of wires crossing here for a Dallas team that has Tony Pollard franchise-tagged at $10 million and seems to have learned its lesson otherwise about overpaying the position in the form of cutting Ezekiel Elliott.

But Tennessee Titans standout Henry - who we've thought has been bizarrely linked with Dallas for the last few weeks - continues to be in the headlines, with an assortment of angles that touch on the Cowboys.

Pro Football Network's Trey Wingo said on Football Insiders, "I've heard the Cowboys [are] potentially interested, but it would have to be at their price, not Derrick Henry's price.''

ESPN's Bill Barnwell has created a "fantasy'' trade of sorts that he believes makes sense that has Henry in Dallas.

We have countered that there will be no trade here, but that Henry to the Cowboys if cut is an idea ... as it should be for a perennial 1,500-yard rusher.

So is logic enough to cause these rumors to go away? Hardly, in fact, as it relates to Henry and the NFC East and Texas, they may just be starting.

There are ESPN suggestions that Dallas might trade up for Bijan. ... except, why get Robinson if Henry is coming here. (Yes, the two ideas come from the same writer.) There is also the idea that Robinson is going to be selected by the Eagles in the No. 10 slot on Thursday night (Dallas picks at No. 26) ... which is weird because an ex-NFL player who is apparently repped by the same agency that works with Henry (and who works for CBS) is suggesting Henry-to-Philly is a done deal.

For the record, with the help of one of our Philly experts who describes that as being "the least-Eagles-y thing ever,'' we can tell you that as we write this, Henry to the Eagles is not a done deal. And also not done: The "Derrick to Dallas'' speculation.
