Controlling Diggs: Stefon, Trevon, Cowboys at Bills Trade Rumors - And A Plan

In this story:
FRISCO - The Sunday matchup between the Buffalo Bills and Dallas Cowboys of course means brotherly headlines, as Stefon Diggs of the Bills and Trevon Diggs of the Cowboys are central figures on their teams ... though not fully in this Week 15 game, as Trevon is of course out for the season with a torn ACL.
One of those possible headlines is being stifled thanks to Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn, who shut down the idea that he might ask Trevon for advice on how to defend his All-Pro older brother.
“I would not do that,'' Quinn said frankly. "I wouldn’t want to put him in that situation. That’s his brother. I certainly wouldn’t.''
And the other of those possible headlines? The rest of us are in control of that one ... which is all about the won't-go-away notion that the Diggs brothers are destined to be teammates ... presumably, someday, while wearing The Star.
Trevon has been very vocal about dreaming of his brother somehow joining him in Dallas.
Sometimes the dream has been expressed playfully; "It could happen!'' he said over the summer.
Diggs Brothers Together? 'It Could Happen,' Says Cowboys Trevon & Bills Stefon
Sometimes the dream has been expressed seemingly angrily, as when earlier this season the All-Pro Tre' went on social media to calling for his brother to escape Buffalo while finger-pointing QB Josh Allen for the Bills' struggles.
The often-tempestuous Stefon has tried to tamp down speculation of his unhappiness in Buffalo ... sometimes failing to acknowledge that the speculation is largely driven by his own behavior and by his own brother's remarks.
Cowboys' Trevon Diggs Calls For Trade of Bills Brother Stefon
Realistically? A Cowboys' offseason trade for Stefon is not cap-practical. Nor is the idea of the Bills dumping their most dynamic player.
So for now? Two of the most electric teams in football are on the Sunday stage ... each hoping for the success of his own team, and ideally - with some guidance from Quinn's classy take - each staying in his own team's lane.
