Kliff Kingsbury to Coach Cowboys? Will Mike McCarthy Buy A 1-Way Ticket Out of Thailand?

Does Kliff Kingsbury want to work for Mike McCarthy's Cowboys? Maybe all he needs is to buy that one-way ticket out of Thailand.

FRISCO - Have the Dallas Cowboys opened up a branch of team headquarters in Thailand?

As coach Mike McCarthy waves goodbye to offensive coordinator Kellen Moore (who“mutually parted ways'' with The Star on his way to the Chargers, the search is on for a new top aide to work with QB Dak Prescott.

We certainly endorse looking under every rock.

And sure, that includes every rock in Thailand, where the recently fired Arizona Cardinals head coach is hanging out now, having purchased a one-way ticket in order to do some canoodling (or whatever) with his model'esque girlfriend.

So depending on how lengthy a "maybe list'' we'd like to assemble, let's put Kliff on it.

As The Athletic points out, “Kingsbury, 43, was on the New Orleans Saints’ practice squad in 2004 when McCarthy was the team’s offensive coordinator.''

So that's a connection of sorts.

And Kliff is a Texas guy. Maybe that counts for something, too.

On the other hand, we believe Kingsbury presently gets paid $5 million per year going forward to do ... nothing. And we have the guy who broke the Thailand angle, Peter Schrager detailed on Fox, saying, "He's already been contacted by several different teams [about] whether he wants to interview about a job and he said, ‘No, I’m good.’

McCarthy’s tentative plans to pick his offensive coordinator are already in place, and the interview schedule has started, with Panthers assistant Jeff Nixon up, and with guys from his own coaching tree like Brian Schottenheimer and Ben McAdoo also likely top candidates.

But if Kingsbury wants to check out The Star? Maybe all he needs is to buy that one-way ticket out of Thailand.
