'Man on a Mission!' Dallas Cowboys Coach Reveals CeeDee Lamb 'Mindset' In Key Win

Dallas Cowboys receiver CeeDee Lamb tore apart the Los Angeles Chargers defense, and offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer revealed that Lamb's desire for domination started in practice.

Get the ball to No. 88. Early on against the Los Angeles Chargers, that seemed to be the Dallas Cowboys' plan, and it got CeeDee Lamb and the "Texas Coast Offense" going.

After not being shy about his frustration at how he and the team played against the San Francisco 49ers, as he only had four catches for 49 yards, Lamb wanted to right the wrongs of last week.

And he did just that.

Lamb caught all seven targets for 117 yards, and the connection between him and Dak Prescott was superb from the outset against the Chargers. But according to offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer, Lamb's desire to dominate the game stemmed from practice earlier in the week.

"It really did start in practice," Schottenheimer said. "He was a man on a mission. It was our Thursday practice, he was on a mission. You saw that mindset, and I think there's something to that. First couple of plays, you get him going and he just feeds off it. I love the way he plays with his hair on fire, passionate."

Lamb was criticized for his body language on the sidelines against the 49ers, and even Richard Sherman called him overrated after the game.

It was all fuel to the fire which drove Lamb's want to prove everyone wrong.

And Lamb's burning desire to help his team would see him be the best receiver on the field on Monday night ... and it wasn't close.

For Lamb, to be one of the players who played a big role in the win over the Chargers by getting going early was crucial.

"Coming out here and being able to provide for my team and contribute to the win is probably the best thing for me," Lamb said. "I feel like I'm definitely an impactful player, so for us to get this going early and to get me the ball early, it was very important."

Important indeed.

We know the former Oklahoma star's talent; he just needs the chance to be able to make plays. He hasn't let Dallas down yet when targets come his way, and on Monday night, he showed why he is seen as a No. 1 in Dallas.

Going forward, the recipe for success for Mike McCarthy's offense seems clear: Get No. 88 the ball, and good things usually follow.
