Dolphins Free Agent Progress Report

The Miami Dolphins signed 11 veterans as unrestricted free agents in the offseason, and we rank them by training camp performance

The Miami Dolphins were very busy in the offseason signing veteran free agents, bringing a total of 11.

Through almost two weeks of padded practices, most of the newcomers have looked as though they'll be making an impact for the Dolphins.

But which ones have shined the most?

Here's one ranking of the 11 free agents by how much they've impressed:

1. LB Elandon Roberts — Pure and simple, Roberts has made himself noticed in just about every practice, both on running plays or in pass coverage. Roberts also brings a lot of energy to practice.

2. G Ereck Flowers — Flowers was signed to a building block on the offensive line, and that's just what he's looked like. His willingness to serve as a mentor for the young lineman on the roster has been a bonus.

3. DE Emmanuel Ogbah — Ogbah certainly looks the part of a defensive end and he's also made his presence felt on a regular basis.

4. S Kavon Frazier — Though he missed some time last weekend because of personal reasons, Frazier has been active in the secondary.

5. LB Kamu Grugier-Hill — Grugier-Hill came to the Dolphins as something of a special teams specialist, but he's made his share of plays on defense.

6. DE Shaq Lawson — Lawson really has been coming on late, and he had a particularly impressive practice Friday.

7. CB Byron Jones — While he hasn't come up with an interception in practice like some other DBs have, Jones has provided good coverage more often than not.

8. LB Kyle Van Noy — Van Noy got off to a solid start before he was sidelined this week with an injury. But we've seen enough to realistically expect him to be a big factor on defense in 2020.

9. RB Jordan Howard — Howard hasn't really stood out one way or another, though it's clear he knows how to find a hole at the line of scrimmage.

10. C Ted Karras — Given the nature of the position, it's tough for a center to stand out in practice. But on the flip side, it's easy to get noticed for the wrong reasons and there has been none of that with Karras. He looks like a solid starter at this point.

11. S Clayton Fejedelem — Fejedelem is even more of a special teams specialist than either Grugier-Hill or Kavon Frazier, and it's really difficult for someone to stand out in that area of the game in practice because there's no full-speed return.
