Daniel Jones Reveals More Information About His Neck Injury

Giants quarterback is hoping to return to action next week.

New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones offered up some more information about the next injury that kept him out of practice this past week and landed him on the inactive list for the Giants’ Week 6 game against the Buffalo Bills,

Jones, speaking to NBC’s Melissa Stark during the weekly production meeting, revealed he has pain in the left side of his neck and symptoms affecting his left (non-throwing) shoulder.

“I talked to Daniel Jones in pregame warmups, and he says he feels the pain on the left side of his neck,” Stark said during the Sunday Night Football broadcast. “He’s having symptoms in his left shoulder. And he said he can throw, but the concern tonight was taking contact, getting hit in the game.”

Jones did not practice last week as the Giants wanted to be cautious with their starting quarterback. Jones and head coach Briana Daboll were both tight-lipped about the extent of the quarterback’s injury, only to say that it was not the same injury that caused Jones to miss the last six games of the 2021 season.

Stark also reported that Jones is eyeing a return to the field next week when the Giants host the Washington Commanders.

“He’s been doing all sorts of rehab exercises, plus cupping and needling and laser treatments,” Stark said on the broadcast. “He told me his goal is to play next week against the Commanders.”

Jones will be re-evaluated by the team’s doctors again when they return to New Jersey. The team would probably want to see Jones practice in some capacity before considering letting him play.
