Happy NFL Schedule Release Day!

There have already been some leaks, with the official schedule set to drop at 8 PM ET tonight. Based on a compilation of information that's already been reported by multiple sources, here are a few notable games.

Giants at Philadelphia, Week 16, Mon., 12/25, 4:30 PM

This game, already confirmed by the league on Wednesday, will mark the first time the Giants are appearing on Christmas Day since the league first began allowing games to be played on the holiday.

The Eagles, of course, have had the Giants' number for most of the last decade-plus, including last season when they beat the Giants three times, including in the postseason.

But these aren't the same Giants the Eagles saw last year. New York has added speed on both sides of the ball, and depth to its run defense, two sore areas where they couldn't compete last year. Did they close the gap with the defending NFC East champions? We will find out, sure enough!

Dallas at Giants, Week 1, Sun., 9/10/23

Initially, NFL insider Brian Baldinger, in a podcast on Audacy, dropped a suggestion that the Giants and Jets would face off on Kickoff Weekend, the game taking place on Monday night, September 11, the date of the terrorist attacks back in 2011.

That, however, doesn't appear to be the case, as while the Jets will be playing on Monday night, their opponent will be the Buffalo Bills.

The Giants? According to WFAN's Brandon Tierney, they will reportedly open their season on Sunday night at home against--wait for it--the Dallas Cowboys. The last time these two division opponents opened the season in primetime was in 2019, a 35-17 Giants loss at Dallas.

And according to our colleagues over at Cowboys Country, the Giants will be at Dallas in Week 10 (November 12)

Jets at Giants, Week 8 (October 29, 2023)

So with a Giants- Jets season opener off the table, Big Blue will host the Jets in Week 8, according to the New York Post. The Giants hold an 8-6 regular-season advantage over their MetLife Stadium neighbors. The Jets last saw the Giants in 2019, a game that they won 31-24.

A Late Bye

The Giants will reportedly have a late bye week this year, in Week 13 of the season, at the start of December. While a mid-season bye is usually preferred, if the Giants are still in the thick of the playoff hunt, the late bye could give them an advantage as far as resting up for the stretch run and getting guys who are dealing with bumps and bruises healed up.

Giants at Arizona, Week 2, and at San Francisco, Week 3

With multiple road games scheduled for out west, the NFL, according to NorthJersey.com, did the Giants a favor by scheduling back-to-back West Coast road games (against the Cardinals and 49ers). This will allow head coach Brian Daboll to keep the team out on the West Coast rather than fly back and forth.

The full schedule, with networks and kickoff times, will be available tonight at 8 PM ET.
