Former Bills DC Leslie Frazier Visits Giants

Frazier reportedly still aspires to land a head coaching job in the NFL.

Former Buffalo Bills defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier was in for a visit with the Giants Monday that is expected to stretch into Tuesday, according to NFL insider Josina Anderson.

The 64-year-old Frazier was part of the NFL’s recent Coach Accelerator Program in Minneapolis, Minnesota, attended by Giants special teams coordinator Thomas McGaughey and running backs coach Jeff Nixon.

Earlier this year, the Bills announced that Frazier, who had been with them since 2017, first as their defensive coordinator and then later as their assistant head coach and defensive coordinator from 2020-2022, would be taking a year off from coaching with plans to return in 2024. It's unknown, though, if Frazier plans to return to Buffalo or pursue other opportunities.

Frazier was among the candidates who interviewed for the Giants' head coaching job that ultimately went to Brian Daboll, his former colleague from Buffalo. Frazier received two interviews with the Giants, the interview process in part conducted by  general manager Joe Schoen was also with Buffalo during most of Frazier's time with the team.

It's unclear if FRanzier, who worked with current Giants defensive coordinator Wink Martindale in Baltimore in 2016 when Martindale was the Ravens linebackers coach and Frazier the defensive backs coach, is looking for a consulting role or if he's simply laying the groundwork for the future.
