Andrew Thomas Held Out of Friday's Practice

That's not a good sign for the left tackle's availability for Monday night.

New York Giants left tackle Andrew Thomas, who has been dealing with a hamstring injury suffered in the Week 1 opener that caused him to miss the last two games, had been hoping to return to action Monday night when the Giants host the Seattle Seahawks.

However, after practicing on a limited basis with the team on Thursday, Thomas was held out of Friday's practice, per head coach Brian Daboll, who said the veteran left tackle was kept inside to work with the trainers as his teammates continued their preparation for Monday night.

This latest development puts a crimp in any plans of Thomas returning to the lineup for Monday. If he is still sore, the Giants might be better off holding him another game and aiming for the following week when the Giants visit the Miami Dolphins.

If Thomas cannot go, the expectation is that Joshua Ezeudu, who has played left tackle for Thomas these last two games, will again get the nod.

In other injury news, running back Saquon Barkley (ankle), listed as limited in Thursday's practice, came through the workout just fine, according to Daboll, and was set to practice again on Friday.

Left guard Ben Bredeson has been cleared from the league concussion protocol, and tight end Daniel Bellinger (neck) was to be a limited practice participant for Friday.

Here is the full injury report from Friday. Thomas is the only change.

  • DNP: T Andrew Thomas (hamstring)
  • Limited: RB Saquon Barkley (ankle) TE Daniel Bellinger (neck) DL D.J. Davidson (elbow) OLB Azeez Ojulari (hamstring)
  • Full: OL Ben Bredeson (concussion)
