  • The deal is an extension, meaning five additional years were added to the remaining two of his rookie contract.
  • Because he had guaranteed salaries for 2023 and 2024--2024 being the option year of his rookie deal which the Giants exercised, thereby making the salary guaranteed--those numbers did not change.
  • Thomas's cap hit this year is $9.291 million. His prorated bonus is $8.271 million, which includes the original proration from his rookie deal plus the new signing bonus, which goes into effect this year.
  • In 2024, his cap number jumps up to $23.675 million. He has a $5 million roster bonus and up to $1 million in per-game roster bonuses ($58,823 per game) for each year of the deal starting in 2024. He also gets a $500,000 workout bonus each year of the deal starting in 2024.
