New York Giants Hall of Fame head coach Bill Parcells was frequently known for "testing" his players back in the day to gauge their mettle.

Although Parcells has long since settled into retirement, he couldn't help himself during his recent visit to the team's mandatory minicamp, where he put second-year edge rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux to the test during one of the coach's one-on-one meetings with the players.

Speaking to Good Morning Football, Thibodeaux recalled that Parcells gave him an impromptu test during their meeting.

“He asked me a question. He said, ‘What is the worst position for a defensive end to be in?’ I was kind of confused because that’s kind of an open-ended question, but I just said, ‘Past the quarterback, right?'"

And how did he do with Parcells' single-question pop quiz?

“He stood up, he gave me some dap because he said I had the right answer," the former Oregon Duck said, adding that Parcells left an impression on him. "That just goes to show that over how many years he’s been coaching and now, the new day and age, football is still the same. So, it was amazing to see him. He’s still sharp as a tack.”

Speaking of being sharp as a tack, Thibodeaux also praised his current defensive coach, defensive coordinator Wink Martindale, whom he called a "mastermind" along with the rest of the defensive position coaches.

Thibodeaux, whose 13 quarterback hits last season were second behind Detroit's Aidan Hutchinson's total of 15 among rookie edge defenders, expressed confidence that in this Year 2 of being in the NFL and the Giants system, his game, which wasn't too shabby last year, would take a significant jump forward.

"This being my second year, I'm going to really jump knowing the defense, knowing the ins and outs of the game, situations that an NFL game brings," Thibodeaux said.
