This Giants Player Has High Fantasy Football Upside

In this story:
New York Giants rookie third-round receiver Jalin Hyatt has been turning heads all summer long with his blazing speed, his ability to separate and split defenders. So it's no surprise Hyatt was chosen as the Giants Fantasy Football Breakout Candidate.
Here's what we wrote of the selection.
Any concerns about the Giants’ rookie third-round pick being unable to handle the entire route tree or get separation have been eradicated by his showing in training camp, including the joint practices against the Lions. Hyatt not only slices the top off a defense but also creates separation for himself, leading to larger chunks of yards after the catch. He likely won’t be the Giants’ top receiving target this season, but he’ll still be capable of some nice production for fantasy owners looking for depth on their roster. – Patricia Traina
The Giants made it a point to add speed to their offense this year, and Hyatt, along with tight end Darren Waller, give the Giants some significant firepower to help turbocharger the league's 32nd-ranked offense in explosive plays of 20+ yards last year.
While Waller certainly got a lot of consideration for the choice, Hyatt ended up being the pick because while at Tennessee, his full talent level wasn't displayed in that offense, and Hyatt has the ability in his Giants offense to catch people off guard.
Giants head coach Brian Daboll noted that Hyatt is a reminder that teams need to do due diligence when scouting players who might be deployed one way in a college system, limiting what they can show.
"They’re not exactly going to be in the system that you’re running, so you have to do a good job of identifying strengths and things that you think they’re capable of, and there’s a lot of time and energy and effort spent in that process," he said of Hyatt.
"From meeting with the player, whether it’s at the combine, whether you bring them on a 30, whether you go out and do a private workout, spending time at the school, it’s a pretty exhaustive process. There are players that play in a completely different scheme, but you can see a skillset that you like to work with after you go through that whole process, and every player is not for every team, but we do a lot of work on that."
