From Henry H.: In my latest mock draft, I see the Giants trading out of the 1st round (#25) for a low 2 & 3 (Texans, Rams, Raiders). In this scenario, they don't lose much, i.e., getting a low 2, plus they gain a low 3 to compensate for trading #100.

This addresses their top 4 needs while lowering their draft budget without a 1st round pick. Anything beyond the 3rd round is a crap shoot, B.P.A. Your thoughts?

Henry, thanks for the email. I'm probably not dropping out of the first round--you lose the fifth-year option if you do that, and as we've seen already, having that fifth-year option to lock up a player an extra year is invaluable. I'd rather keep the first-rounder than try to recoup what was lost by trading away pick No. 100.

(From Raymond S.) With the Giants obtaining significant speed at receiver, it looks like interior lineman will be the priority come draft time. Jones is going to need more time to get the ball downfield. Seems they might want to open up the offense a lot more and use a lot less dinking and dunking. Going to make Jones earn big money.

No argument from me there, Raymond. I think the offensive line needs to be a priority, and I wouldn't exactly be shocked if the Giants go center if John Michael Schmitz is there at No. 25 and then go cornerback in Round 2.

(From Peter T.) After one week of free agency, what have you found to be the biggest surprise?

Hi Peter. If you're talking from a Giants perspective, I'm surprised they haven't added any offensive linemen so far. I thought for sure Jon Feliciano might have been re-signed by now. But now I wonder if the Giants are just waiting to address center in the draft. I was also surprised that Darius Slayton returned. I was pretty sure he'd look to move on, but I'm glad to see him back.

(From George G.) I just wanted to thank you for your awesome content. I watch your podcast every day, and it's so refreshing to see and hear a reporter without an agenda, who treats fans with respect, and who knows what she's talking about. I'm a big fan--I even created an Instagram account to get more of your content.

Wow, thank you for the kind words, George. You are why I do what I do and always give you my best. And for anyone interested, you can follow me on Instagram @pattitraina -- I'm verified (finally).
