The New York Giants are out with their first unofficial depth chart of the 2023 season. While the chart is created by the team's public relations staff rather than the coaching staff, a few interesting takeaways will likely align with what the coaches are thinking.

Ben Bredeson, who finished as the top-ranked Giants offensive lineman this summer, is listed as the starter at left guard. Bredeson, who was part of a competition for that job with second-year man Joshua Ezeudu, makes the most sense given his experience at the position (key against that Dallas defensive front).

But Ezeudu is slightly more athletic than Bredeson, raising the possibility of the Giants looking to stick with a rotation at that spot as they did in the summer.

Other notables on the unofficial chart include Micah McFadden, the top-ranked Giants inside linebacker, as well as tops against the run and on the pass rush during the preseason, listed as the WILL (weakside) linebacker next to Bobby Okereke. McFadden, who has blitzing ability, had a strong training camp, beating out Darrian Beavers for a roster spot.

But with the acquisition of Isaiah Simmons, who can line up just about anywhere at the second level, will McFadden yield snaps to Simmons, or do the coaches have another plan for his playing time?

The Giants unofficial depth chart lists a pair of rookies, Tre Hawkins III and Deonte Banks, as their outside corners, with Adoree Jackson as the slot cornerback ahead of Darnay Holmes, last year's incumbent.

The expectation is that the Giants will work Hawkins into the mix whenever they can, but this alignment listed on this week's depth chart is of interest because it's one they ran frequently during training camp with some success and could be in response to their anticipation of seeing CeeDee Lamb, the Cowboys' best receiver, in the slot.

Whether this combination becomes more of a steady showing is still up in the air, though it will likely come down to the matchups.

The Giants host the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night at MetLife Stadium.
