Depending on how it flows, Sunday's game between the New York Giants and the Dallas Cowboys can be one of historic proportions.

Already, the Giants are set to make history by having undrafted rookie free agent quarterback Tommy DeVito start for the injured Daniel Jones. DeVito becomes the first undrafted rookie free agent to start at quarterback for the franchise and the tenth such type of player to start for an NFL team since 1950.

The other piece of history the Giants are chasing is to become just the 11th team since 1970 to reverse its misfortunes against a division rival who beat them by 40+ points in the first meeting of a season. If the Giants, who lost to the Cowboys in Week 1, 40-0, can pull that off, they'd become the latest team to do so since the 2019 Miami Dolphins, who lost to New England in Week 2, 43-0, but ending their season with a 27-24 victory against the Patriots.

The Giants have never been in this position, but there's a first time for everything. But few people are giving them a fair shake to pull it off. Per Fan Duel, the Giants are a whopping 17.5-point underdog in this weekend's game, the largest spread of the week and perhaps even of the season.

Not that the odds makers can be blamed for the large point spread. The Giants rank dead last in the NFL in scoring (11.2 points per game), while the Cowboys are averaging 27.5 points per game, third-best in the NFL. And the Cowboys, who lost last week to the Eagles, have not lost back-to-back games in the regular season since 2021 (Weeks 11 and 12).

What will this week bring for the Giants? Tune in and follow along as we chronicle the key plays, stats, and observations from the Giants-Cowboys game in our live blog, with contributions from Giants Country editor Patricia Traina and analysts Coach Gene Clemons and Tommy G.
