Andrew Thomas in "Wait and See" Mode Regarding Return

In this story:
New York Giants left tackle Andrew Thomas would like for nothing more than to get back on the field with his teammates.
But Thomas, who has been sidelined since suffering a hamstring pull in Week 1, is taking a pragmatic approach when it comes to his chances of being ready for this weekend's game against the New York Jets after getting on the practice field for the first time in roughly a month.
"I want to be on the field," he said Wednesday. "We only have a few opportunities guaranteed each season, and I’ve missed quite a few of them, so it doesn’t feel good, but I can’t change that. All I can do is just continue to get better."
The good news is that Thomas felt good enough to get through the practice, albeit limited, unlike when he started the practice and had to stop. He's been working with the trainers since, putting gradual stress on his hamstring to see how it responds, and so far, the results have been encouraging.

"I’m just following the plans of the trainers. I think they just want me to mimic what I would do if I were at practice, but they also want to limit and not just cut me loose because there is a chance you can make it worse with soft tissue, so that’s the plan I’m trying to follow," he said.
But when it comes to hamstrings, Thomas knows they can be tricky, which is probably why he didn't want to make any projections as to whether he could go on Sunday against the Jets.
"I don’t know yet, but today was my first time being on the field, so we will see how it responds tomorrow and the day after and go from there," he said, adding, "It goes up and down with how it feels day to day, so we’ll see how it feels tomorrow."
