New York Giants left tackle Andrew Thomas, who strained his hamstring Sunday night while chasing down a blocked field goal against the Dallas Cowboys, told reporters on Wednesday that he wasn't sure if he'd be able to play Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals but he's certainly trying to give it a go at practice.

“He’s a tough guy. He said he wants to come out and do some stuff and see how he feels," head coach Brian Daboll told reporters before the team's Thursday practice. "Good to have him out. See how much he does.”

Thomas was bothered by the injury, moving around gingerly. With two games over four days, it's hard to imagine him playing in both Week 2 and 3, especially with a long plane ride on tap, but the Giants hope they won't have to be without their best offensive lineman.

Meanwhile, outside linebacker Azeez Ojulari, who landed on the injury report Wednesday after tweaking something during a 1-on-1 drill, also tried to give it a go. Ojulari battled soft tissue injuries last year, including a calf strain that landed him on injured reserve. He needs to show that he can stay healthy moving forward.

Wide receiver Sterling Shepard got his veteran's rest day, as Daboll said would be the case. Meanwhile, tight end Darren Waller, who had a rest day on Wednesday and has a hamstring issue, looked ready to go for practice, though we'll wait and see how much he could do.

Here is the full Giants practice report from Thursday. Bold denotes a change from Wednesday's report.
