Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen commented on one factor on what might make them feel like unwelcome visitors on Sunday at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium – Josh Allen.

That’s not anything implying an internal struggle with the Bills’ franchise player, but a reference to the Jag’s top edge rusher, Josh Allen.

“He scares me,” said Buffalo’s Allen about the prospect of being a victim of “Josh Allen on Josh Allen” crime a second. “He got me last time we played [in 2021] . . . He’s coming off a really good week too. He’s a baller. . . “

The “last time” in question is a 2021 defensive struggle that the Jags won, 9-6. Jacksonville’s Allen was a man possessed in the contest turning in a sack, a fumble recovery and an interception while leading his squad in tackles with eight on the afternoon. That appeared to leave an impression on one of the NFL’s top players under center heading into the upcoming matchup that was a rare bright spot so that season where the Jags had already fired head coach Urban Meyer.

To add further to what will have the Bills circling the wagons to protect their back field, the Allen wearing teal is a top man in the league for sacks already this year recording six so far in 2023 in a three-way tie with the Chargers Khalil Mack and the Steelers TJ Watt.

With the loss to the Chiefs in Week 2 in the home opener, a win against the Bills could have implications for playoff seeding later in the year. The more postseason games the Jags can host if they win the AFC South, the better their chances for success in the divisional round to improve upon last year.

The Bills were the favorites for many in the AFC East. After their dominant 48-20 win over their division-rival Miami Dolphins, this game is a possible rematch should both teams manage a Wild Card round victory in January.
