While watching a game live can give you one impression of a player's usage, looking at the actual amount of snaps they played compared to their teammates can also give insight into the team's strategy and outlook.

When looking at the snap counts for the Jacksonville Jaguars after their 26-3 loss to the Houston Texans in London on Sunday, it is clear to see what kind of plan the Jaguars went into the game with, and what limitations they had from a personnel standpoint.

Who played a lot, and why? Did the snaps mean anything or nothing? We examine below:

Offense (67 snaps)

OT Cam Robinson: 67

OG Andrew Norwell: 67

C Brandon Linder: 67

OT Jawaan Taylor: 67

QB Gardner Minshew: 67

WR DJ Chark: 64

WR Chris Conley: 59

RB Leonard Fournette: 56

WR Keelan Cole: 55

OG A.J. Cann: 37

TE Seth DeValve: 34

OT Will Richardson: 30

TE Josh Oliver: 30

TE Ben Koyack: 15

RB Ryquell Armstead: 9

WR C.J. Board: 8

OT Cedric Ogbuehi: 3

RB Devine Ozigbo: 2

  • Leonard Fournette got a decent amount of rest this game, at least compared to most others. Ryquell Armstead and Devine Ozigbo combined for 11 snaps and while Ozigbo didn't touch the ball in his few snaps, Armstead made a big impact in the passing game, showing he can be more than just a player who gets a few carries in. He was tied for the team lead in receptions with five and produced 65 yards as a receiver, including a big 31-yard gain early in the game.
  • With both Marqise Lee and Dede Westbrook out with injuries, Keelan Cole and C.J. Board got a lot more time on the field than they have previously. Cole had five receptions for 80 on six targets, including a few big first down conversions. He had his best game since Week 2 against the New England Patriots last season.

Defense (70 snaps)

FS Jarrod Wilson: 70

LB Myles Jack: 70

CB Breon Borders: 70

CB A.J. Bouye: 70

CB Tre Herndon: 70

SS Ronnie Harrison: 70

DL Calais Campbell: 61

LB Najee Goode: 61

DE Yannick Ngakoue: 59

DE Josh Allen: 41

DT Taven Bryan 38

DT Abry Jones: 36

DL Dawuane Smoot: 27

DT Akeem Spence: 15

FS Cody Davis: 9

DE Lerentee McCray: 3

  • In his first career start in the NFL, Breon Borders played every single snap for Jacksonville, with the vast majority of snaps coming from the nickel spot as starting cornerback D.J. Hayden missed the game with a neck/shoulder injury. Borders was picked on a few times, especially when covering tight ends, but it is telling that the Jaguars never once had three linebackers on the field.
  • Calais Campbell, even at his ripe age, continues to be the iron man of the Jaguars' defensive line, with Yannick Ngakoue closely behind him. Despite looking his age early in the season, he has had dominant games in terms of penetration recently, even with his high snap count. Sunday was another case of this, despite struggling to bring Deshaun Watson down. He played a ton and yet again had another good game.
  • The Jaguars have got a nice rotation going at defensive tackle with Abry Jones/Taven Bryan/Akeem Spence/Dawuane Smoot. Bryan played well in his extended role on Sunday, and while Jones was more up and down he still flashed as well.
