Jaguars Won't Be Wearing Throwback Uniforms vs. 49ers

The next time the Jacksonville Jaguars play a game at EverBank Stadium, it will be a homecoming.
But the homecoming will mostly be in name only, with the Jaguars not actually set to wear their much-demanded throwback uniforms in Week 10 vs. the San Francisco 49ers.

According to Paul Lukas with UniWatch, the Jaguars hints toward a throwback game in Week 10 were geared toward promoting Legends Weekend, which will feature past Jaguars being welcomed to the game and celebrated. It will not, however, feature the Jaguars' old teal uniforms, which many believe are amongst the best uniforms from the 90s era NFL.
"Our 49ers game is also Legends Weekend, hence the retro logo. We will not be wearing throwback uniforms for that game. We’ll be welcoming back alumni from the last 29 seasons," a Jaguars spokesperson told Lukas.
The Jaguars have a Thursday Night Football game vs. the New Orleans Saints and a Week 8 road game vs. the Pittsburgh Steelers before their Week 9 bye. After that, they will return for a home game vs. the 49ers. It just won't be in their old uniforms.
"We can’t control the schedule, but I honestly don’t think our team really cares that much about when and where and who we play," Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson said on Monday.
"Yes, you’re guaranteed a home game after the London trip and all of that which is great, but after that, you go to the next one. I honestly believe that our players really don’t pay much attention to that, nor do we. The schedule comes out in May and we see it, we’re excited for it. It’s a great opportunity.”
