NFL Fantasy Stock Report, Week 12: Trevor Lawrence Rising After Win vs. Texans

Stock Up
Trevor Lawrence: Boy does this one feel good. Trevor’s play is finally translating to fantasy points with 24.56 points this week against the Texans. He went 23/38 for a season-high 364 yards with one touchdown, one interception, and a rushing touchdown. His performance leaves him currently as the QB6 for the week after being last week's QB1. Trevor was a 4th round pick and the QB8 in fantasy drafts this season. There were a lot of high hopes about him taking a huge fantasy leap this season with the addition of Calvin Ridley and also him entering his second season in Doug Pederson’s system but Lawrence still unfortunately finds himself as the QB 16 this season.
He’s played really well this year but thanks to Travis Etienne’s crazy touchdown streak, the Jaguars constantly shooting themselves in the foot on offense, and the defense creating short fields for the offense taking away yardage opportunities, it hasn’t exactly added up to big fantasy success. The offensive line is playing better and Trevor’s knee is healing up. The last two weeks the Jaguars have feasted on play-action and putting Trevor on the move which is something they didn’t have at their disposal while he was hurt. He’s only put up two fantasy dud games this year and at least brings you a good floor but his ceiling is starting to show and he’s a scary guy when the confidence is rolling.
Jordan Love: I’ll start this one out by saying I don’t think Jordan Love is a franchise guy. He’s had an up-and-down season with the lows being extremely low. However, the Packers have won three out of four games and Matt LaFluer has Love playing really well. He has QB1 finishes each of the last three weeks and has only failed to hit 15 points three times. Love posted 268 yards with three touchdowns while also adding 39 yards on the ground in an impressive Thanksgiving win against the Lions.
He was drafted as the QB22 and in the 13th round. If you drafted him and held on you at worst have a super reliable backup but with all the injuries at quarterback having your backup perform with that much positive value could be a season saver. This week provides a tough matchup against the Chiefs but he follows it up with the Giants to finish the fantasy regular season. If you’re in the playoffs and have Love he could easily be making your lineups with games against the Buccaneers, Panthers, and Vikings.
Dak Prescott: Dak has been on an absolute tear ever since the Cowboys got their teeth kicked in against the 49ers in week five. In that stretch, Dak has been a weekly top three fantasy quarterback in every game except one. That was the blowout win against the Panthers. He had a slow start to the year fantasy-wise as he failed to hit 20 fantasy points in a game until week six but it was that same week six game that started the hot streak.
Dak is averaging 313 yards, three passing touchdowns, and 27.93 fantasy points a game during this insane run. The Cowboys have clicked on offense and also unlocked CeeDee Lamb's true potential. Currently the QB3, he is returning great value after being drafted as the WR9 and it’s even crazier to think he climbed that high after being the QB21 through five weeks. I have full confidence in Dak and the Cowboys to keep rolling.
Stock Down
Ja’Marr Chase: This one is obviously not on Ja’Marr but it doesn’t look great moving forward for a guy who some people were drafting as the 1.01 this year. With Joe Burrow’s calf injury hampering the offense early it was already a tough start for Chase but now without Burrow even on the field all hopes are lost. Nothing against Jake Browning but he stinks and he’s not carrying the offense. Chase caught four balls for 81 yards this week which is lucky considering two of his catches came off of tipped passes.
The Bengals offense is severely hamstrung moving forward with Browning at the helm which just tanks Ja’Marr’s fantasy value. This is a tough situation because Chase is so talented that you still start him. Get the ball in his hands and he can make something happen. I just don’t hold out much hope for him blowing up again.
Breece Hall: I get the Jets are a mess and the offense can’t get anything going but I still have expected way more out of Breece Hall. Especially for a guy who had gotten the hype he did coming into the league. Coming off the ACL injury, he was drafted in the 4th round and the RB17. He currently is the RB17 so it’s dead on so far but it doesn’t look great to end the season. His usage first of all is mind-blowing to me. We heard in the preseason how he had no limits and was ready to go yet he saw limited work over the first month of the year. Robert Saleh then came out and said again that Breece didn’t have a snap count? We saw Hall get 25 touches in week five against the Broncos but he has only hit 20 touches once since? Doesn’t add up to me.
The Jets offensive line has struggled but Breece has still been able to produce big plays for an offense that lacks exactly that. With a defense as good as they have and their quarterbacks it makes zero sense to me they aren’t hammering Breece. He now has single digit fantasy points in three out of his last four games as the Jets have gone from bad to worse. Their offense finds the end zone about as often as Toby Gerhart does at the goal line and it isn’t getting better with Tim Boyle at quarterback. The Jets also don’t really have a great run matchup left on the schedule. Now Saleh just threw Breece under the bus by questioning his ability to find the “grimy yards”. Dysfunction all around and I don’t buy Aaron Rodgers returning until I see it.
Zach Charbonnet: After Kenneth Walker went down with an injury early in week 11 against the Rams Charbonnet was set to take over. He has seen 85+ percent of the snaps now in the past two games but hasn’t done much with it. Charbonnet has 9.9 and 7.8 fantasy points respectively in those games leaving him as a weekly RB2-3 each week. He has 47 rushing yards in both games but has saved his value by catching 10 passes combined in that span.
The Seahawks look like they are going to struggle on offense with Geno Smith dealing with an elbow injury and they have a gauntlet of run defenses on the way in the Cowboys, 49ers, Eagles, and Titans over the next four weeks. There was likely minimal to zero investment made into Charbonnet but the expectations of him producing like a lead back should be tempered greatly.
