Trevor Lawrence Replaces Patrick Mahomes in 2023 Pro Bowl

The Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback has made his first-ever Pro Bowl as an alternate, replacing the Super Bowl-bound Patrick Mahomes.

Trevor Lawrence has made his first Pro Bowl; chances are, it won't be his last.

Lawrence was officially named to the Pro Bowl on Tuesday as a replacement for Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who is set to start in Super Bowl LVII vs. the Philadelphia Eagles in two weeks.

Lawrence is the Jaguars' second Pro Bowler in 2023, joining return specialist Jamal Agnew, who was named to the Pro Bowl as an alternate on Monday. Lawrence and Agnew are the first Pro Bowlers from Jacksonville since Josh Allen, Calais Campbell and DJ Chark in 2019.

Lawrence is the third quarterback in team history to earn Pro Bowl honors, joining QBs Mark Brunell (1996, 1997, 1999) and David Garrard (2009).

In 17 starts in 2022, Lawrence completed 387 of 584 passes for 4,113 yards and 25 TDs. His 387 completions were the most in a single season in franchise history and his five rushing TDs were tied with Garrard for the most in single-season franchise history.

Lawrence joined Bengals QB Joe Burrow and Bills QB Josh Allen as the only players in the NFL with 25-plus passing TDs and at least five rushing TDs. Against the Titans in Week 14, Lawrence set a career high with 368 yards passing and was named AFC Offensive Player of the Week for his performance.

The second-year quarterback totaled four 300-yard passing games and orchestrated three comebacks of 17-plus points, including a comeback from behind 27-0 in the postseason against the Chargers. In two postseason contests, Lawrence completed 52 of 86 passes for 505 yards and five touchdowns and five interceptions. He threw for four TDs against the Chargers, becoming the youngest player in NFL history to throw for four or more touchdowns in a playoff game.

The 2023 Pro Bowl games will take place in Las Vegas beginning on Thursday, Feb. 2.
