Doug Marrone on failed two-point conversion: 'We just at the end of the day didn’t get enough push up front'

When Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Doug Marrone told his offense to stay on the field and go for the win after a DJ Chark touchdown catch made the game 13-12 with 00:30 left, he knew it was a risky call.
And even though running back Leonard Fournette was stuffed at the goal line on the play, Marrone stands by his call to sneak a road win as opposed to going for overtime.
"I loved the play. It looked good all week. We just at the end of the day didn’t get enough push up front," Marrone said on Monday. "That is really when you look at on film, I wish we were able to get more push."

Marrone said the team had options for where the ball was going to go on the play but it was dependent on how the Texans defended it. When the Texans didn't send a heavy blitz, it meant to give the ball to Fournette.
"If they were gonna come with pressure we were going to be able to throw the football. And if they weren’t going to come with pressure we were going to give the ball to Leonard and run," he said.
Marrone said Monday that he had made up his mind to go for two long before Chark caught a touchdown pass from quarterback Gardner Minshew. It was simply a play of inches, he said.
It was a decision that I made prior to us getting the last possession. I said that if we returned the punt for touchdown with Dede then I was probably going for go for the extra point," Marrone said on Sunday following the game. "Then said if we start driving this football and we score with a certain amount of time left, I said I'm going to go for two."
