Thomas was signed to the team's 90-man roster on Aug. 4 after he was released by the Minnesota Vikings. Undrafted out of Jacksonville State, Thomas carved out a role for himself after signing with the Vikings following the 2018 NFL Draft.
Thomas would go on to make the Vikings' 53-man roster and played in five games last season, finishing with eight carries for 30 yards and two receptions for 21 yards.
If Thomas would have made the Jaguars' roster, he would have been for the first three games of the 2019 season for violating the league’s substance abuse policy.
Thomas did not appear in any preseason games for the Jaguars, but he does have a skill set they are lacking in their running back group. Expect for them to keep eyes out for other running back cuts around the league.
