How to Watch and What You'll See When Jets Face Giants

The rivalry game formerly known as the 'Snoopy Bowl' is set for Week 8 at MetLife Stadium

The New York Jets come out of their bye week looking for a third consecutive victory.

After knocking off the NFC East's first-place team in Week 6, the Jets will take on that division's last-place team in Week 8. Designated as the "road" side, Gang Green (3-3) will meet the New York Giants (2-5) on October 29 at MetLife Stadium.

The game will kick off at 1:00 pm ET and can be seen on CBS. Andrew Catalon (play-by-play), former Giants' running back Tiki Barber (analyst), Matt Ryan (analyst) and AJ Ross (sideline) will be on the call live from East Rutherford. Fans intending to listen on the radio can hear the action in the New York market on WEPN 98.7 FM.

In what once looked to be a battle between the Aaron Rodgers-led Jets and the Daniel Jones-led Giants, both teams will start backup quarterbacks. Zach Wilson jumped back into the Green & White's QB1 spot after Rodgers ruptured his Achilles in Week 1. On the other side, veteran Tyrod Taylor will make a third start in place of Jones, who is dealing with a neck injury and has not yet been cleared for contact.

Wilson has been serviceable of late, accounting for only one interception in his past four starts. He completed more than 72 percent of his passes over a two-game stretch against AFC West foes Kansas City and Denver.

"Once we got to the Chiefs game, we zeroed in on how we wanted to attack and go to work, and I think Zach started relaxing and having fun," said Jets' offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Taylor is the consummate professional with more than one dozen years of NFL experience. In two-plus games this season, he has thrown for two touchdowns against no interceptions. The grizzled veteran has a 95.4 quarterback rating:

"A guy that is very efficient, who knows how to operate in that offense," said said Jets' defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich while describing the next quarterback that Gang Green will face. "He is a guy that the three times I have played him in the past, he has gotten us. He is a guy you have to account for with the arm and the legs."

The Jets have frustrated three of the NFL's top quarterbacks thus far this season, limiting Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes and Jalen Hurts to a combined 3:8 touchdown-to-interception ratio.

Both New York teams feature game-breaking explosion in the offensive backfield.

Second-year pro Breece Hall has shown no ill effects from ACL surgery while returning to full strength and shouldering the load as the Jets' RB1. Ranking first amongst NFL leaders in yards per carry (6.45), Hall has gained 426 yards on 66 attempts.

"Breece is playing at a Pro Bowl level," said Jets' head coach Robert Saleh on Wednesday.

Saquon Barkley, the centerpiece of the Big Blue offense, has returned to the lineup after missing three games with an ankle injury. The former No. 2 overall draft pick has totaled 371 yards from scrimmage and three touchdowns in four games.

"He has got it all," said Ulbrich about the Giants' RB1. "He has got vision, he’s got great feet, exceptional movement, explosiveness. At the same time, he is a 230-pound guy that runs like a 230-pound man, so he is challenging in every way."
