WATCH: Sam Darnold finds Jamison Crowder for TD on opening drive of Jets' preseason

Now that's how you start the preseason.

The Jets finished off a seven-play, 75-yard drive with a three-yard Sam Darnold touchdown pass to Jamison Crowder on the opening drive of the Jets' preseason opener vs. the Giants.

Darnold bounced back from a near interception on the second play of scrimmage to convert a 32-yard third down pass across the middle to Chris Herndon.

Then Darnold connected with Ty Montgomery for a 28-yard reception to the 11-yard-line.

The touchdown to Crowder was a third-and-two conversion, which is encouraging because of the struggles in that category last season.

Jets kicker Chandler Catanzaro missed the extra point. Catanzaro has struggled during training camp, so that's an ominous start to the preseason.

Jets coach Adam Gase saw all that he needed in that opening drive, as he benched him for the rest of the game. It was an impressive start to what could be a special second season for Darnold.
