WATCH: Adam Gase explains why Jamison Crowder will 'juice' up Jets' offense

The pieces are in place for Jamison Crowder to have a career year in his first season as a Jet. Alongside coach Adam Gase and promising second-year quarterback Sam Darnold, the electric Crowder could be unleashed like never before.
The former Redskins wide receiver signed a three-year, $28.5 million contract with the Jets this offseason. Crowder has flashed potential in his first four seasons and coach Adam Gase believes he has a specific skill that can be valuable for the Jets.
“He has an explosiveness after the catch that you don’t see a ton of,” Gase said to the New York Daily News. “A lot of the slot receivers, historically have been not guys that are threats down the field. He’s a threat down the field, but at the same time he can catch it and create, which is going to be interesting for us because we’ve never had a guy who can really juice it up.”
Gase's offense values the slot receiver position, so Crowder is going to get chances to make his mark. Last season, Dolphins slot receiver Albert Wilson recorded 26 receptions, 391 yards and four touchdowns in seven games, prior to a season-ending hip injury.
Darnold explains why Crowder is going to be an extremely dynamic component for the Jets' offense.
“On certain option routes, you can tell that he has a really good feel of leverage and how to use it against defenders,” Darnold said to the New York Daily News. “I think being able to find him in good matchups against a nickel [corner], a linebacker or even a safety coming down, it’s going to be hard to guard that dude.”
Crowder should be one of the most fun players to watch on the Jets and could turn into one of the biggest fan favorites for Gang Green in 2019.
