WATCH: The case for Jets RB Le'Veon Bell breaking Curtis Martin's YFS record this season

In terms of Jets running backs, Curtin Martin is the G.O.A.T. without question. Martin made three Pro Bowls and was selected as an All-Pro twice while a member of Gang Green.
Now Martin is thrilled to pass the torch to the Le'Veon Bell, whom he expects great things from in the Green and White.
“There’s not anything that the guy can’t do," Martin said to the New York Post. "He’s one of the best running back receivers in the league, he’s one of the best runners in the league. So you got the cream of the crop.”
In a recent article, New York Jets.com writer Randy Lange posed the question of Bell breaking Martin's yards from scrimmage record (1,942) set in 2004.
Lange believes Bell is capable of achieving the feat this season because of his history of production.
The three-time Pro Bowl running back has averaged 129 yards from scrimmage, which over the course of a 16-game season equates to 2,063 yards. Bell racked up 2,215 yards from scrimmage in 2014 and 1,946 in 15 games in 2017.
Lange cites the potential of injuries and rust as a couple factors that could work against Bell's pursuit.
However, if Bell remains healthy and returns to his old form, it could signal a special season for himself and the Jets.
"I want to go out there and put everything I can on the line," Bell said to New York Jets.com. "I feel I'm a good enough player to go out there and win games."
