St. Brown Is Highest PFF-Graded Lion in Win Over Broncos

Examining PFF grades from Lions' win over Broncos.

The Detroit Lions rolled over the Denver Broncos, 42-17, to move to 10-4 on the season.

With the win, Detroit grows closer to its first playoff berth since 2016. It can be clinched Sunday or Monday through a variety of scenarios.

The Lions got big performances from a number of players in Saturday's win. Wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown had a superb evening, catching seven passes for 112 yards and a score. On his touchdown catch, he leaped over a defender into the end zone.

Additionally, running back Jahmyr Gibbs had 100 yards on the ground and two touchdowns, one rushing and one rec

Defensive back Ifeatu Melifonwu set the tone for the defense in a big way.

Melifonwu forced a fumble on a well-timed blitz, sacking Russell Wilson and jarring the ball free. He'd finish with eight tackles, a sack, two passes defensed and a forced fumble.

The Syracuse product has been limited for much of the season with injuries but has made the most of his two opportunities to start. He had a tackle for loss to force a turnover on downs against Chicago as well.

Another big performance came from quarterback Jared Goff. The veteran passer threw five touchdowns, tying his career high.

Three of those touchdown passes went to tight end Sam LaPorta, who broke the team's franchise record for single-season receiving touchdowns by a rookie with his ninth.

Defensively, the Lions made some changes in the secondary. Jerry Jacobs worked exclusively on special teams, while Khalil Dorsey made his first start at cornerback. Dorsey split reps with Kindle Vildor.
