Best Bet: Jameson Williams Gashes Rams' Defense

Jameson Williams is key to Lions' success against Rams.

The Detroit Lions are set to host their first ever playoff game at Ford Field Sunday.

Detroit will play host to the Los Angeles Rams in primetime, offering the team an opportunity to secure it's first postseason win since Jan. 5, 1992. To do so, they'll need to be prolific offensively and match wits with a strong Rams offense.

A key part of that attack will be wide receiver Jameson Williams, who possesses game-changing speed. It will be the second-year wideout's playoff debut.

Play Michigan lead writer Drew Ellis believes Williams will be a primary part of the Lions' attack and go over his projected total of rushing and receiving yards on Sunday.

"The Detroit Lions offense will have to be successful to win its first playoff game in over 30 years," Ellis told All Lions. "With Sam LaPorta hampered, someone will have to step up. I think Jameson Williams continues to grow in his role with this offense. He’s had over 40 receiving yards in his last three outings and in five of his last seven games. Ben Johnson finds ways to get him the ball and tries to do it in space. I like Williams to go over 38.5 rushing+receiving yards against the Rams (-110)."

In 12 games this season, Williams has totaled 24 catches for 354 yards and two touchdowns. Additionally, he has three rushing attempts for 29 yards and one score. He has surpassed 38 scrimmage yards in six games this year.

Williams missed last week's game against the Vikings with an ankle injury but is expected to be full-go for Sunday's game.

The Rams rank 20th in pass defense, allowing an average of 231.1 yards per game through the air. Kickoff between the Lions and Rams is set for 8 p.m. Sunday and the game will be televised on NBC.
