Lions Select OT Colby Sorsdal with Pick No. 152

In this story:
Following an eventful Day 2 highlighted by four draft trades, the Detroit Lions entered the final day of the 2023 NFL Draft with two selections remaining.
Offensive lineman Colby Sorsdal became Detroit's seventh selection in this year's draft.
According to the Colonial Athletic Association's website, "Sorsdal played at Mount Lebanon High School before heading to William & Mary, where he became a five-year starter at right tackle. He jumped into a starting spot as a true freshman, beginning 10 games that season as well as his sophomore campaign. The team did not play in the fall of 2020 due to COVID but Sorsdal started all three games of the 2021 spring season. He was a third-team All-Colonial Athletic Association selection for his play in 10 starts in 2021 and then garnered first-team FCS All-American and All-CAA notice as a 13-game starter in his final season."
Detroit's offensive line is widely regarded as one of the best units in the entire NFL.
As expected, Detroit general manager Brad Holmes executed another draft trade this year, and D'Andre Swift is now a member of the Philadelphia Eagles.
In the seventh round, Detroit will now pick sooner, as it secured an earlier selection as part of the Swift deal.
Barring any further trades, Detroit will next select in the seventh round (Pick No. 219).
