In this story:

At the beginning of each game and every fourth quarter, the Panthers have someone hit the Keep Pounding drum to get the crowd going, leading into the Keep Pounding chant.

Former Panthers fullback Mike Tolbert had the honor of hitting the drum at the start of the fourth quarter on Sunday's Christmas Eve game against the Green Bay Packers and on his very first swing, he put a hole right through the middle of the drum. He took a few more whacks at it and may have made the hole a little bit bigger. Nonetheless, it fired the crowd up and helped the Panthers tie the game up.
