NFL Network Analyst Names Panthers 'Surprise Team' to Make Playoff Push in 2023

In this story:
The Carolina Panthers...a playoff team?!? What?!? Y
es, it is 100% possible despite having a new head coach, first-time offensive coordinator, and rookie quarterback. The Panthers were one game away from winning the NFC South a year ago with a roster that is not nearly as talented as this one.
During a recent segment on Good Morning Football on NFL Network, analyst Cameron Wolfe tabbed the Panthers as his one "surprise team" who will make a playoff push in 2023.
"This team, they don't have a typical number one overall pick roster. Remember, they made that jump in the trade to go get Bryce Young. When you look at this team, and I spent some time with them in camp, I think that defense is already ready to be a playoff team. The offense is the one thing we've been asking about. Last year, they made their push. If you remember, they fired their coach and Steve Wilks almost took them to the playoffs when they had Baker Mayfield and P.J. Walker and Sam Darnold - a collection of quarterbacks. Now, they have Bryce Young. And I tell you what, I know we were talking about rookie quarterbacks down there but when I talk to people in Carolina, they say he does not act like a rookie. They said they're teaching him things they teach quarterbacks in year two, year three. And look, he's small, I get all the jokes that are going to come out about him. But Thomas Brown, their offensive coordinator, said this dude is special. His accuracy, the way he's already taking hold of the locker room. I think this team is going to be a lot better than expected."
