Inside Bryce Young's Day Against the Jets

In this story:
Bryce Young went 14-of-22 in team 11-on-11 work on day one of joint practices against the New York Jets in Spartanburg.
For his first time seeing an NFL defense other than his own, he looked about as good as you could have hoped heading into the day.
He did throw one interception on the day, but you can place the blame on wide receiver DJ Chark for that one. The ball hit him right in the hands, bounced up into the air, and into the hands of Brandin Echols along the sideline.
The Jets did a nice job of getting after Young, flushing him out of the pocket and although they got to him a few times, he didn't seem fazed. He remained calm with his eyes downfield connecting with fellow rookie Jonathan Mingo on a few occasions for big gains. His touch and arm strength were put on full display specifically on a deep ball over the middle to Mingo, placing it just over the linebacker Sam Eguavoen dropping into coverage.
In the red zone, Young went 3/6 with a touchdown pass to Javon Wims.
"I thought Bryce looked good today," said head coach Frank Reich. "The Jets have a really good defense and that showed today at times. Their front is top notch. But I thought Bryce handled it. I thought offense overall, it was a good day. Jets made their fair share of good plays defensively. They had good rush at times, so we have to get that cleaned up. I thought Bryce made good decisions. I thought our spacing and distribution was good."
One thing that has become apparent with Young is that he doesn't lean on any one target and does a good job of taking what the defense hands him with the occasional deep shot. For the most part, he keeps the ball out of tight windows and by doing so, he's throwing very few interceptions.
"That's what you can expect to see from our offense. That's just the way we're going to roll," said Reich. "We want our quarterbacks to distribute the ball, be playmakers, be the Steph Curry. Just get the ball to these guys and let them make plays for you."
